| In 1971, while southbound from Anchorage, the barge Kevalaska, in tow of the tug Daphne, collided with the Japanese motor vessel Shoyo Maru No. 5. Eventually, the Kevalaska was refloated and brought to South Naknek. It was sunk at this spot to make a dock for this cannery. |
