Two Reasons for an Electric Fence
Last month, July 31, we posted a picture of an electric fence surrounding a cabin, near Naknek. It has worked effectively to keep the bears from approaching the cabin too closely, so far. They are familiar with electric fences and don’t enjoy getting shocked. The fence is visibile in the lower part of this photo. Near the bushes are two bears eating something they have caught or found. Two or more bears around are a common sight this summer. Planes flying over have seen over 20 bears at a time roaming near this vicinity, in the daylight hours. It’s truly be a summer of bears.
